These are picture of happiness, of contentment. They are a windows into the daily choice to wear happiness; to, in fact, let it consume us, instead of some lesser alternative consuming us. It’s Missy on the Camino, present to the day, come what may.
As much as I have prepared to experience happiness on the Camino, some good part of my heart is already preparing me for a return to my home. Why?
Because the place to be happy is here. And the time to be happy is now. I can’t expect or plan (though I’ve tried) for the skies to part above me as I walk 500 miles to a small city 4864 miles away from here.
There is no there and then that is better than here and now.
One of my favorite Carl Jung quotes is; Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.
As I sign off on this Journey Preparation Series I claim both; a time and place and space to dream. And a time and place and space to awake.
I vow to name, embrace, and own a happiness that has been available to me my whole life long. It has always been within arm’s length. It has always been here for the receiving. It has always been calling out to me.
I vow to dream and to awake!
And I hope you’ll join me at , for this journey, for the COJO series, and for the good that can come from taking time to look outside and look inside.
God bless you all.
